Dave: I have a 140 doing exactly the same, it sat in a heated warehouse for 10 years. Mine does not have a belt pulley. I can tell you though when you remove it will come in two pieces regardless. The bolts that hold the pulley gear box also go right through pto unit and thread into transmission case. There are bolts on bottom half of pto that just go through the pto casting only. There are shims between pulley housing and pto housing that are used for lining up bevel gears that drive the pulley. While you have it apart you should check and clean the oil passages that supply gear oil to the pulley gear box. There is also a device called a slinger that forces the gear oil up there. That may be the problem for both of us, not enough lubrication. I don't know a lot about this device other than it is there and it's purpose. I will be watching to see responce you get on that. There are threads in archives on this, but not sure what title is on them.
