Mike: Mush more simple than that. You go from Pos to Neg ground. Mount your alternator, I like to use a double pulley from the last V8 Olds or Buick, allows you to place alternator back farther, thus lower, and use the outer pulley. I always change coil from 6 to 12 volt, saves fooling with those resistors. Starter and distributor need not be touched. I use the two wire system and the extra wire in your harness can be used for an excite wire. I put a starter type push button on dash for exciting alternator. With the push button this avoids the risk of it being left on and thus running battery down when tractor is not in use. Only other item is your lights. Any questions on details just ask.
