It has a gauge, but I'm not sure what its supposed to read as normal. Its starts on gas fine, switches over fine, and idles fine and runs well at half throttle with no load. It doesnt reach full throttle as it should and loses guts under load. I thought maybe a little more info may narrow things. I have a great affection for those old MD's, and have always wanted to own one, but not so much so as to buy something that would bankrupt me, meaning having to put more into it than it would ever be worth.
