Make sure you have a good seal on the manifold on the block and to the carb. This causes your problem a lot. Get rid of those champions, they just cause trouble. get some autolite plugs. Double check the points in the mag, and make sure one side is rounded and in line with each other. One of my F-20's did the same thing a few months ago. I had to pull the point, file, clean, and made sure the gap was perfect. If your carb is flooding, then the problem in in the electrical (plugs, mag.) If there is no gas leaking (not flooding) then the problem is the seals on the carb, or manifold. That F-12 should always crank by the 2nd pull on the crank, at least all mine and others I have seen.
