Too hot? (560D)

Ignorance was bliss. Finally replaced the heat sensor and thermostat on my 560D, now I'm not sure if it is running correctly. At 3/4+ throttle sitting in the yard on an 85 degree day the temp gets up to around 225 degrees. Is that normal, or too hot? How hot is too hot? The manual just says when the thermostat opens.
