Ken: 99% of all A, SA, 100 and 130 have the type of starter switch that the rod is pulled for starting. The push type will work but I'll bet the rod you bought is not right length. The proper switch is the one in which you pull the rod. When buying a switch make sure you are also getting the little plastic shields that go inside the switch. I have run across 2 tractors in past year without those. Without those you can get a dead short in that switch.
