Dan: I'm sorry but I am not even interested in finding the timing marks on any of my tractors. If I want to find TDC on compression I must remove the plug anyway and I will have it before you have the dirt cleared away from timing marks. I have been setting timing advance by ear for close to 50 years. I garentee you I can do that as well as anyone with a light, and quite often I have been asked to, and actually improved on engines previously set with timing lights. My friend the ear is much sharper than the eye on a 4 cylinder Farmall. My way I can also stop and adjust almost anywhere if I so desire and have a 1/2" wrench with me..
