Clancy: I have gone through literature that I have and cant find model numbers for pitman drive trailer mowers, other than I see the model 28 listed but I always thought that was either 3 point or 2 point fast hitch. May be there was a 28 trailer also. what I am looking at is 150 Years of IH by CH Wendel and he lists 28 and then numbers all above 100. I think the one with model numbers above 100 were all balanced head mowers. I am not confident enough to call this one from memory. He just lists all these mowers built in the 50s and 60s. Your mower also is older than you believe, as I doubt if there has been a pitman mower built since 1980.
