This was a ongoing problem up till IH came out with left hand threads on all replacement camshafts, they started with them in 450 tractors only, parts catalog shows serial and parts changed, also hub of cam gear was solid, early gears had 3 holes in web, if you didnt replace new cam & gear you couldnt keep them tight. These M parts were ok until live pumps were used on SM/400/450.
