This is common. The end of the shift lever that fits in the notches in the shifting forks is worn. What you'll need to is remove the tower and shift lever, build up the end of the shift lever with the welder, and grind it down to shape, so it fits the notches in the forks nice. If it hangs up in gear again before you get it fixed, shut the tractor down, remove the shift lever, and use a large screwdriver to remove it from gear/center the notches. Be real careful until you get it fixed, don't shift on the go and always let the clutch out slow to be sure it's not caught in two gears, that's a good way to do major transmission damage.
