I got a new cork float from Rice equipment. It has worked fine. What you most likely heard about was there was a problem with the old original floats if there was alcohol in the gas, it would disolve the shellac the float was coated in, the cork would soak up fuel and sink. The new floats are coated with something else that works ok. Also and this is important! Don't follow the float setting that comes in the package! It is wrong and it will run way too rich or just plain flood out.On the inside of the fuel bowl there is a machined line, set the end of the float to that line and it will be perfect!
