My 57 Cub had same problems not long ago. Laid in new plugs/points/new set of wires. Turned out the wires were the cause and thinking about it-how many guys are religious about changing things like that on a regular schedule?? Getting ready to upgrade my Cub to electronic ignition and be done with these pain in the butt points.. Good luck-hope I helped in any way..
