You won't be able to use the push-pull from the Mag though, as its a ground-out switch. You pull it out to "undo" the ground & push it in to set the ground. You'll need one that allows current to flow through it when its pulled. The ones for a distrubutor look just like the ones for the mag, but they have two terminals on the back. Can still get them from IH, but $$$$. If you plan on continuing to use the mag, you will have to add another one of some kind to get power to excite the alt. I used one that has a light in its handle (from Radio Shack) so I remember to turn it off when I turn the tractor off. Otherwise, the battery will run down. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
