I have an H and a 350 that both had shift lever problems. Made a new 3/4" shaft from a #8 bolt and drilled a 1/2" hole in it. Made a new 1/2" shaft to substitute for the 7/16" shaft from a #8 bolt. Drilled out the shift tower to 1/2" and reinstalled the shift lever. Installed 2 5/8" drive plugs that cost .30 at the Auto Parts Store. This made the shifting mechanism good and tight and worked fine.
