Perhaps the total number for each year represent the absolute total of 400s produced (gas, diesel, LP, high crop) and the total given under that represents the gas high crops only? I think it makes sense to say that out of almost 41000 tractors there were around 10000 diesels. Just a speculation, perhaps we will never know the true number. Besides, who knows how many have been junked already?
