It is amazing Jim, how some of these guys relate noise to power. Caterpillar has proved that aint so. Put a 300 hp Cat against any 300 hp engine, the Cat will have more torque, and be quiet as a kitten. I drove in a guys yard one day grossing 62.5 tonnes with a 475 hp Cat. I first thought he saw me and of course must have heard, he was walking ahead of me, when I was about 20 feet from him, he jumped to one side in alarm. He had not heard me, he is not deaf. He remarked how quiet the Cat was all 475 horses. Someday these guys will apreciate quiet engines.
