According to my Parts Manual, O-6 model tractors could be equipped with either a magneto or a distributor type ignition system. In either case, the shaft on these units was mounted with a horizontal orientation. Our O-6, serial number OBK 12379 W2, appears to have a distributor ignition system as evidenced by the presence of an ignition coil. What seems unusual is the fact that, on this tractor, the shaft orientation is vertical. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have information on why this difference in shaft orientation exists.
