Loud touch control unit

I noticed when I put up the Super C the other day that the touch control unit under the gas tank had quite a whirring noise comeing from it. Not so loud that you would notice while on the seat but sure hear it when your standing by it. The sound changes a little while raiseing or lowering but then goes right back to the same whirring sound. Is this normal? I don't think my dads old C makes any noise at all from the touch control that I remember. Thanks,
