Tim I am curious ...what kind of fluid is in the tractor...it sounds like it is so thick when the temp drops that it won't do what is intended...could there be any water in the fluid? When was the last time that your fluid and filter were changed. I have a 584 that lets me know when it is time for a new filter. I really don't have a good answer for you, but let us know how you make out, good luck,...Mike in Exeter Ontario
