I have a 300U I got from the family off a farm in Indiana. It is getting water in number one cylinder after I let it set for awhile. It starts ok, and after the water blows out the exhaust it runs ok. The engine has a lot of hours on it, but the tractor and TA are very good. I was going to rebuild it, but a friend has a 350 Farmall that is well used. Tires gone, sheetmetal very bad, TA gone...but the engine is really good. No smoke, starts and runs great. Will the 350F engine go in the 300U ? I am told there is too much of a difference in the front cover and front mount. They do not look that much different. This will be a work/hayride tractor. It will be painted nice, but must earn it's keep here in Texas. Before I go to too much trouble and money I need you guys expert advice. Thanks in advance.
