Cnks: Many posts report that the 113-123 engine is somewhat fussy about keeping a good seal on the head gasket. If changed, use the IHC factory gasket for best results.. seems to be mentioned often. Also retorque a couple times after running. Then tweak valve adjustments as having one too tight isn't good. Ya might want to also check head\block for no warps while apart. It's also common for marginal piston rings to have more blowby if the head is reworked for more compression. (if the rings can't hold lower pressure they sure won't hold higher pressure) It's a tossup sometimes deciding what to do and it also depends on how hard you intend to work it.
