if you know what gear you need to be in to match your ground speed you oughta be shift that thing all day long without raking the teeth . all of the letter and hundred series farmalls were the best shifting of any of the older tractors. i love going to tractor shows and pulls and listening to "experts" grind the teeth off the gears on their perfectly restored tractors with the "please do not touch" signs on 'em.
