Thanks for the suggestions, guys! No, I did not even think to check the thermostat before I installed it, nor did I ever think to try to check the gauge with boiling water. I don't think I will pull the thermostat out, but I will check the gauge and see what that tells me. I am not worried about the tractor overheating, but would rather have a gauge I can trust to show me what is really going on. Thanks again!
