In 1975 I had a new 1066 and a new 100hp Deere. I also had Farmalls 560D and 656D. The Farmalls all had two 6 volt batteries in series. The Deere had two 12 volt batteries hooked parallel. No question the Deere was best starting in cold weather. I have gut feeling Deere would have still been the best starting even had the batteries been other way around.
