a question for red rider

Well I guess anybody can answer this but I was reading a response by red rider and he really seemed to understand and explain really well trani's and gear set ups. Well heres my question I want to put a lower gear in my H and I was wondering on how hard it would be to do this and the proper proceedur. I was also told that thiers a suffix code in the serial # so I new which H had the low gear is that true and how to I figur out the code Thanks for your help
