I think a slow charge should be 1-2 amps. 9 amps is a high charge. Yes, a 9 amp charge will boil the fluid out of the battery, not good. Why not let the Tractor charge it. I recently converted my 46 BN back to 6v and just let the tractor charge the battery. Oh, I used a diode instead of the cutout relay, I havent had any problems yet.
