There's nothing to it, Michael. I've sold many, many tractors across the border, and with no trouble; a bill of sale is all that's necessary... so long as it's a FARM tractor. An obviously restored, 'show-only' antique will get dinged for duty.

I have an online business selling tractor parts, and sell the vast majority of my parts into the US. Farm machinery parts(field--I'm not sure about automated livestock feeding and handling, but I'd imagine it to be treated the same) are also duty-free, and, further to that, any farm tractor, or farm tractor part coming INTO Canada, from anywhere in the world, is also duty-free, but you can't escape the GST trap...
