I would make sure the engine is loose. and that the engine gives a compression, remove spark plugs and feel air pushing out. I agree w/ Mike Soldan. I would not pay over $500 for it. Two years ago I was in need for a tractor for pushing show, a guy nearby me was pedaling a 51 cub with a front blade on it, and it was in fair shape to say the least, I bought it and regretted it very much. I sold it a year later for 1/2 of what I bought it for. I learned a hard lesson #1 buy a machine that is complete. #2 buy a machine that looks like it was taken care of. #3 run that tractor for a hour or two and work all the stuff on it too make sure it isnt a heap of $###. GOOD LUCK. Remember IH made over 300,000 H's there should be plenty to pick from.
