These tractors were assembled and partially manufactured at Doncaster England. If yours is a Super BM and had a factory 3point hitch which the Supers built at Doncaster did it will not be a 1946 but more likely a 1956. The production of that Super BM and BMD did not begin until sometime in early 50s. (could be as late as 55) Proir to that it was BM and BMD with no 3 point hitch. The diesels had a British direct start diesel. The people I have spoken with never mentioned what the gas engine was. I suspect gas model production was quite low. British farmers of that era were heavy into diesels, especially a tractor as heavy as an M. The British models unlike their US counterparts never had an MTA. These tractors were followed in 1959 by the B-450, again this tractor had direct start diesel, no live pto, had factory 3 point hitch and sheet metal was same styling as M. The B-450 was produced until around 1965. You probably should think it is possible after 50 years that someone has built a tractor from two or more tractors, thus giving you the 1946 Super BM. It may not be a super at all just someone has labeled as such. I just hit me, there is a guy in Iowa, USA posts on this forum, has all the data serials, years of production, CALLING MILTON

Paint is another, the modern acrylic enamels are great for resistance to grease and fuel stains, retaining their shine and they last forever; unlike enamels and lacquers . Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos
