What Salvage man is trying to tell you is, there is a proper tool for removing these wedges. I personally would not buy a tractor with hammer marks on axles. They probably use hammer to change injectors. Get yourself a manual, it will show the tool. Those wedges are tightened to 600 foot pounds, and you don't do that with a hammer either. Those tractors came with a six ft. handle and wrench.
