Russ, First thing to check for the black smoke is a clogged air cleaner. Water in your transmission will make the fluid that milky color. A hydrualic pump that is sucking air will do it too. Change the hytran and filter and keep an eye on it. If it turns that color right away, you have a oring leaking on the suction side of the pump. As for the buzzing, try to adjust the knobs below the dash. They can sometimes get turned to a point that make the pump bypass over relief, making a buzzing noise. Good luck
