Valve adjustments on flathead Cub

I had the engine rebuilt about 5 years ago on my Farmal Cub Loboy. Its one of the older red ones with a fast hitch. I use it for mowing grass. Its starting to get a little hard to start and I think is lower in power than when I first had it rebuilt. It doen't burn any oil. So, I figured that it is probably time for a tune up, including a valve clearance check. How do I go about checking clearances on a flathead? I have done plenty of overhead valve engines. I assume the adjustments are done under the side cover? I would appreciate any information to help me through it.
