F-20 magneto help ?

Would any of you know how to time a mag to the tractor on a f-20 ? I took it apart at the coupling where two bolts hold it together,I did mark it and it does run but is hard to start and seems to advanced,is the coupling marked anywhere? thankyou for any advice
