spark plug B

What is the thread size for the spark plug hole on a 1945 B Farmall? Also I am thinking about taking the pipe out of the top pipe out of my manifold. It has some part of the vaccum lift in the pipe. The new ones I have seen do not have it in them. The parts inside of the one I have are rotted out of it anyway. Could this cause me any problems? Is the pipe in the manifold just regular pipe thread? I could weld up the hole where the lever goes through it, if that would be better. Does anybody have any thoughts on this???? I don't want to make a bigger mess than what I aleady have.
