I will lay serious odds that the battery was installed incorrectly. I've never seen a positive ground alternator - others - if you are following this thread, jump in and help me here. Most conversions use a Delco 10SI alternator. They are dirt cheap and more than do the job. I suggest that you disconnect the alternator, reverse the battery... get to where you can start the tractor.. then measure the output voltage of your alternator. If you have no output voltage, just toss (well, trade in) the old alternator and buy a rebuilt Delco 10SI. I understand that they are about $39. Before installing this new alternator, make the following checks: Battery: NEGATIVE ground. Coil: The "+" or "pos" side goes to the ignition switch. They may have overlooked this detail too. Try going to http://www.geneseeproducts.com They sell conversion kits, but if you dig into their pages, they do provide lots of good information on the conversion. Check and make sure your conversion was done correctly.
