If you can take the pan off, you can look up the cylinder. You will probably see rust below the piston. The chances of having it move over all that junk is slim. What I had to do is disconnect the connecting rod and push (beet with mallet and wood stick) the piston out the top. You might have to ream the ridge first. After the piston is out, then hone out all the rust and reinstall the piston. Good Luck.
