B Farmall

I have a 1941 Farmall B that starts easy and runs for about 3 or 4 minutes (sometimes longer if I just let it idle). If I put it in gear to drive it, it just stops running after maybe 30 seconds. At that point it is hard to get it started again until it sets for a long time. I have rebuilt the carburator but that did not seem to make any difference. The plug wires are bad, and I am in the process of changing them. Is this an electrical or a fuel problem? Any other suggestions? This is my first tractor so obviously I am a novice.
