Mine 460 has a square steel buttom on the top of the lever. I would think you could cut a piece of soft steel that is thick enough to drill, grind it smaller than the hollow on top of the lever, drill it to fit pretty tight on the push rod and it should stay there. I would think a 30 minute job max. Or like someone else said, go to the hardware store and but something that will fit into the hollow on top of the lever and allow free travel and put it on the rod.
