300 Utility -- Hydraulic Strainer Question

Have a question about what to remove to get at the hydraulic fluid strainer. My 300U has one control valve mounted near the back of the reservoir cover (it's also got power steering as well). Do I remove the lines to the control valve, etc., or remove the valve completely? It appears to be mounted by four bolts into the cover. Are there any gaskets that will need replacing, such as for the control valve or for where the pump lines come in at the front of the cover? Unfortunately my parts manual is on order from Binder. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
