I believe that hot engine would fire right up on diesel. My reasoning is the oil is warm, "thinner", the engine itself is warm & already lubricated a little. The best test would be to try it. If the starter has trouble spinning over then it would be easier to start on gas, if it spins easy it should light on diesel in a few revolutions. Also the air temp would make difference as it would affect diesel fuel temps, & diesel is an oil, in that temps affect its viscocity. Also DO NOT run diesel from the gas station meant for highway use. Highway fuel is lousy, it has little lubrication, due to its sulfur content, and your machine or any other off road machine will wear more & not perform as well.
