I have the parts book for the Farmall 200, 230, 240 and 240 Utility. According to it, the serial number plate on all of these models is located on the right side of the clutch housing. I would have to go look to be sure, but the plate on my 240 is about 2 1/2"x4". That 7 screw, 5 screw, A is a casting code. It means that the piece it is on was cast on July 5, 1955. A=1955.
