need help making towbar to pull MD home

I'm making a towbar to pull a non-running Farmall MD home next weekend. The tractor's trip home to the farm is 25 miles. It's a narrow front, and I was thinking of attaching the towbar to the two bolt holes on the front of the narrow front assembly(above the wheels, below the front casting) Is this safe attachment point? What is the size and spacing of those holes? I'd go look myself- but it's 260 miles away. How long should the tow bar be? Should I use a pin connection or a 2" ball for the tow vehicle connection?
