Hi Les, If the serial number that you provided (578661)is correct, it would make this a 1950 model C Farmall. You can also check for the serial number located under #1 spark plug. It is stamped into a flat area below the plug. You may need to scrap away any old paint, dirt, grease, etc in order to read it. The engine number should match, or be close to the number on the side of the seat tool box. If you have any other questions, just ask.
