Farmal C Radiator Perking

I have a Farmall C and am having a problem with the cooling system. I had a crack in the block, fixed it, leak in radiator, fixed that. Now when I fill the radiator and run it for a couple of hours my coolant level will drop about 2 inches. I am not getting water in the oil, but am getting periodic perking out the overflow on the radiator. It is not getting hot and boiling over, so I don't know what the problem is. The radiator has been flushed and air flow is good. Is there a thermostat somewhere, it is a 1953 model or do I need a new radiator cap. I'm not sure what pressure the system is rated at. Help!! Antifreeze is expensive.
