We have a 45 M that rusted a little hole(smaller than a pencil) in the bottom of the transmission case. My dad is an expirenced welder of 25 years and knew a few tricks to fix it. The second he touched it with the stick and made an arc the walls were so thin they disappeared, leaving a hole bigger than a silver dollar. After some more tinkering, he welded a patch to it. Somebody should be able to do it for you, but if it is really tore up in might be cheaper and safer to find a salvage rear end to part out. Good luck.
