Size of sleave puller for 450

Just got my new sleave [$79.49] for my 450 , c-281 and the 4 1/4 inch diameter puller plate is bigger in diameter than the bottem of the new sleave . What size should I grind it down to . Also should I use any type of sealer such as lock-tight around the top or bottom of the sleave since I thick the block is cracked behind the sleave . I am on a very tight budget and can not afford to get block welded
