All 3 openings are for pressure AND return. The liftall system is a one way system. You need to have a single acting cylinder or a double acting cylinder with a breather on one hookup. The hookup on the magneto/distributor side is the one most commonly used - it and the one directly across from it work right away when you pull the lever. The rear outlet on the clutch side is a delayed lift/drop outlet for the rear cultivators. The way you mount the cylinder should not matter, although the way it fits the implement could dictate which way to put it. Usually the end that comes out goes up (or back). Steven
