Farmall H hydrolics, which hoses and where to.

I have a 1950 farmall H that has the stock lift all system on it. On the right side near the brake the former owner added a quick attach device, and on the other side is the standard 2 plugs. My question is this, where do the hoses go on at, is it just one output and return hose or two, for a one cylinder (3x8). Also this is going to be a really dumb question but which way should I mount the cylinder, the screw side up or down. Thanks for the help.
