Blue Smoke?

I have a IH624 (D206 diesel) that smokes a bit at idle but seems to be fine under load. The oil level has remained constant for the last 4 months - so even though it appears to be smoking a bit more, there is no consumption to speak of - nor any funny noises in the motor? Just wondering whether the beast is on "borrowed time"? Other than the bit of smoke it is running as good as it has since I bought it last spring (approx. 3550 hours).
