Here is the wiring diagram for a SPDT switch. Here is how I will wire it up: Instead of going to the coil, that wire will go to ground. Instead of tachometer, that will go to the - lead on the hourmeter. Instead of ground, that will go to the magneto. Should work, correct? The switch will either ground the mag (off position) to shut off the tractor or ground the hourmeter (on position) and make the hourmeter run.
